Guide to Positive Thinking Meditation and Prayer

Meditation through Prayer

A mind is a powerful tool.  Most people are unaware of how forceful the mind can be.  Our thoughts are a pathway to our future. Whether it’s positive or negative.   Think about it.  Have you ever felt so depressed, so out of sorts, and had no idea how to get out of that deep dark state, that funk you’re in?   I know many of us have.   My experience with prayer, meditation, and visualization was a lifesaver.  By following the concepts of  The Power of Positive Thinking by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, brought me out of that depressed out of control state.  It gave me my life back.  It becomes a part of you as you incorporate it into your daily life.  Whenever you become complacent and take a break you notice that you need to be rejuvenated.  Just as we need physical exercise,  we also need mental or spiritual exercise.

It’s amazing how our thoughts can affect our lives. Meditation through prayer could change our thought process.  Therefore, enabling us to live healthy positive well-adjusted lives. Positive and uplifting thoughts produce life fulfilling dreams. On the other hand negative thoughts produce the opposite effect. There are several benefits to Prayer and Meditation. It not only helps with positive thinking, there are a variety of things that could work in your favor. It helps with anxiety (panic attacks), depression and other aspects that hamper self development and positive effect in our lives.    When you meditate, you become rejuvenated.  It gets you out of that saddened or lackadaisical state.

You Must Have a Plan

Plan ahead. Begin your day with what you’d like to accomplish. This helps to get a better grasp on things. It would also help you to get a broader picture of what you want out of life therefore better be able to achieve your goals. Write your goals for the following day each night or at the beginning of the day. Then pray, meditate and visualize. Do this as soon as you wake up and before you go to bed.

Positive Vibes

Think positively and surround yourself with people who think positively.  Growing up it never occurred to me that someone could break into my home.  This never happened until my late thirties. I met someone who was obsessed with being robbed, always looking over their shoulders.  At first it was a bit funny, then it became annoying.  I suppose subconsciously it stayed with me.  And I ended up being robbed. Lesson learned surround yourself with negativity, it follows you. By the same token surrounded by positive thinkers bring you a positive outlook, in turn making yourself a better life. Now don’t get me wrong.  I’m not saying that this happens in every instance.  Just try to surround yourself with positivity and your life would be better for it.

Be Thankful

There are so many things in life to be thankful for. Be thankful for health, having a career that you enjoy, a roof over your head having good and trusting relationships. Stop and smell the roses. When we don’t, negativity starts creeping into our thoughts and we begin to feel sorry for ourselves. Our lives could go spiraling out of control.

To receive a better insight into Jesus Christ, you may want to delve a bit more into getting to know Jesus Christ by looking at Adyashanti’s Resurrecting Jesus.  Adyashanti is an American spiritual teacher whose expertise in the Life and Death of Christ will give us some insight on this topic which is very revealing.  He offers talks, online study courses and retreats both in the United states and abroad.  Most of us have grown up learning about Jesus.  Yet, as we become adults we feel alienated from true Christian principles.  have only scratched the surface. Adyashanti’s Resurrecting Jesus gives us an in-depth look into his life and resurrection.

Conclusion

Although I endorse Prayer and Meditation, I understand that not everyone is necessarily interested in religion.  Meditation could be used with or without prayer.  You can tap into your inner self, be relaxed and think positive thoughts.  Simple things such as: I’m relaxed. I’m happy.  I’m loved.  I’m healthy.  Repeat these things ten times upon waking in the morning and do the same before going to bed.  And during the day when you remember. You’d be amazed the difference it would make in your life.

Dr. Norman Peale discusses this in detail.  Positive thinking through prayer is truly a life changer.  If you repeat this quote from the Bible, “I could do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”  And “I believe my mind is now emptied of all anxieties all fears and all state of insecurities.” Visualize what you’d like to accomplish whether you’d like to get closer to a loved one,  or get over an illness; want them to become a better person;  this would work wonders for you… “Repeat ten times pray and visualize.  These will certainly help in your daily lives.  It certainly helped with our daughter who is autistic.  This has worked for me on several occasions.

  1. I am a meditator. I meditate a lot. It’s good to see that knowledge about meditation is being spread for people to get to know more about meditation. On the side of prayer, I do not joke with it and consider it a very important part of my life. Well thanks for writing to educate more on meditation and prayer. Great Job!

    • I agree with you whole heartedly.  Prayer is a staple of who we want to be.  Although we know it works, a lot of us is not consistent.  It’s our spiritual food and we need to treat it as such.

      Thank You

  3. Hi,.

From my online research positive thinking is more than just being upbeat all the time, optimistic comes to mind, however, positive thinking is much more than just being hopeful, also. Positive thinking is the opposite of negative thinking. Motivation and prayers as really help in charging bad things to good, when you think positively, you now have a fresh start to do something you really enjoy and your thoughts and decisions move you toward those goals.

    Thank you for sharing.

    Aluko.
